JayShree Kapoor's (b. Kenya) works are a personal journey of painting in a meditative state, whereby she explores the energies of the Universe. These paintings are spontaneously composed; the process is one of surrender, capturing the intense period of time when the mind is devoid of all thoughts apart from the connection where breath is the essence of life. The paintings are made up of complex layers of colour and texture, with a cosmic energy that is intrinsic to the soul of her work.
Highly individual in style, her work is described as emotional and mysterious, and a place to explore your soul. The power that exudes from these canvases encompasses the viewer and allows them to go on a journey of their own.
Following on from the series on breath as the essence of life, she now introduces work on flowers as the manifestations of thought. According to Hindu mythology flowers are the pens with which Mother Earth writes. She expresses all her ideas and desires through flowers. And walking in this unceasing trail of flowers is what connects us to the divine. They distill the essence of the soul. JayShree’s experiment with flowers is her search for the eternal spirit.
