Over the last 50 years Jamil Naqsh has created a definitive universe where cubism beds abstraction and the curvaceous female forms, inspired by the temples of Khajuraho, entwine with the basic shapes of modernism. He expresses all this in hundreds of variations of a few definitive forms, ensuring a humbling visual experience.

ADRIAN WISZNIEWSKI paints poetic yet idiosyncratic visions. Big pictures with big impact. Colourful fantasies of sunlit brilliance, overflowing patterns of people and panthers, mythic birds and beasts, the bright beauty of star flowers, trumpet lilies, chalice gold ranunculus, feathery green fronds, furled flags, midnight skinny dipping, and throngs of handsome, poised boys and girls, all, like Dorian Gray, eternally young.

MEZE: Where does the inspiration come from for the paintings? Is it all from your early life or do you draw inspiration from your current life in London?
At this age nothing amuses or inspires me but whenever I see a nice painting I get a strong urge to paint; apparently it has nothing to do with that painting, which has moved me. Every day I want to see a new book or magazine to discover more....

The Paradigm Case recently had the honor to catch up with Harry and asked him some questions about life & art.
Harry, can you tell me more about your upbringing in Glasgow and how your environment in Scotland impacted your art?
I was born in Glasgow and spent some of my early life there, but my Scottish father was killed early in the War, and my London-born mother took up (after a decent interval, I hope) with another man and....

The Albemarle Gallery is proud to be the first to make a public presentation of the art of Aisha Caan. The works exhibited form a single entity, under the title ‘The Elements of Nature’. Aisha Caan says of her work: “My practice as a painter has been the vehicle for enquiry. In recent years, the curiosity about the essence of existence and the elements of nature has intrigued me, whereupon I have explored the purpose of life and the Omnipresent.”

History in Isolation - Annabel Howard meets painter and rising star Henrietta Labouchere.
Henrietta Labouchere’s work is an unusual contribution to London’s contemporary art scene. Figures, drawn with a rare gestural confidence and shot with colour, drift in isolation through infinite landscapes. Pale faces peer longingly into a distance that nobody else sees. Occasionally a protagonist confronts the viewer with a resigned stare, both poignant and intriguing.

Another extraordinary collection of hyper-realist paintings summed up in the words of Edward Lucie-Smith , Art Historian and Critic.
'Luciano Ventrone’s paintings invite a mood of pure contemplation from the viewer; they are works of masterful skill and supreme aesthetic beauty. What we see in a Ventrone painting is not ‘real’ because it is not what we would see were we to look with the naked eye - We see more.'

Dealing exclusively with the urban landscape, Walsh’s work is a complex construction that draws on many influences, including American Precisionism, the aesthetics of place and the importance of the history of art.
His work is an expression of often highly personal experiences of particular times and specific places. The quality of the works lies not only in their great technical skill but in Walsh’s ability to universalise his experiences to give them wider resonance.
'Multiverse' oil on linen 144 x 188 cm (57 x 74 in) is on exhibit until 3rd January 2011
